Voices of History

History, close enough
to talk to.

We're closing the distance between people today and the whole of human history — building the exhibits, classrooms, games, and stories that let anyone meet the people who shaped the world.

Why we exist

For most of us, history is something behind glass — a plaque, a paragraph, a face on a bill. The people who built the world we live in are kept at a distance, and we hardly notice, because we've never known it any other way.

We're here to close that distance — to make meeting a historical figure as easy as asking them a question, wherever you happen to run into one.

How we work

A standard, held everywhere.

Faithful to the record
Every figure is built from what they actually said and did — and stays honest about where the record runs out. Getting a person right is the whole job.
Wherever you meet history
A gallery, a lecture hall, a phone on the bus, a video you're making. We meet people where they already are, in the mood they're already in.
Made for everyone
History belongs to all of us and almost no one gets to meet it. We build for the fourth-grader and the professor, the curious and the skeptical, alike.

Help us close the distance.

Whether you run a museum, teach a class, make things for an audience, or just love this stuff — we'd like to hear from you.
